A clinical Occupational Therapist by basic qualification. Geoffrey graduated in 2011 from Kenya Medical Training college with a diploma in occupational Therapy. He has more than 5 years experience working with cerebral palsy kids, In the year 2017, he visited one of the biggest cerebral palsy institutes in Europe, Zint Jozef cerebral palsy institute in Antwerp where he was trained for 2 months on how to handle kids with cerebral palsy. Before joining Cerebral palsy ukunda, Geoffrey has worked as an occupational Therapist at the Nyali children hospital and Msambweni county referral hospital among other hospitals.

ABOUT CPU

Cerebral Palsy Ukunda is aiming to equal the difference between the level and quality of care given to people with disabilities, bridge the divide between the two groups and help re-intergrade parents into the general society.

MY JOURNEY WITH ELLY, MY CEREBRAL PALSY WARRIOR

Elly was born on July 13th 2016 and Just like any other parent, i had hopes of raising a normal child. I did have a smooth pregnancy, i was never sick, except for a few days when i climbed Mount Kilimanjaro at 3 months pregnant. All scans showed all was ok, i was consistent with my ante natal appointments and took very good care of myself. It was during birth that Elly's head got stuck, his brain lacked enough oxygen, he came out blue, did not cry and his head was deformed. He suffered severe birth asphyxia and spent the first week of his life in the intensive care unit, and three days in the newborns unit having phototherapy treatment because he had developed jaundice...
